Economy

Sustainability can cause expenditures of money and natural resources within countries. A good economy is one that gives good quality of life and money to all. Good economies can lead to a more efficient way of defeating climate change (more money to spend tactically defeating the major cause of climate change / global warming). Economic sustainability refers to practices that support long-term economic growth without negatively impacting social, environmental, and cultural aspects of the community.

The largest economies in the world are all making efforts to reduce global warming.

  • United States. America's national environmental policy act founded in 1969.

  • China. China is the world's top emitter, producing more than a quarter of the world's annual greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change. It pledged to cut emissions under the Paris Agreement, reduce coal use, and invest in renewable energy.

  • Japan. Japan's strive by 2030 to cut its emissions by 46% from 2013 levels, up from its earlier goal of 26%, to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

  • Germany. Germany's cross cutting choices on biodiversity, climate change, energy and resource efficiency.

  • United Kingdom. UK is on course to cut carbon emissions by 78% by 2035. Hitting the targets would require more electric cars, low-carbon heating, renewable electricity and, for many, cutting down on meat and dairy.

  • India. India is one of the few countries on track to meet its Paris target, achieving 21% of its pledge to reduce emissions intensity of GDP by 33-35% by 2030.

  • France. France, has agreed to reduce greenhouse gases by 40% by 2030, and has set itself a target of being carbon neutral by 2050.

  • Brazil. Brazil's cutting budget technique to stop buying unnecessary things and to focus more on fighting deforestation spikes.

The Paris agreement is an agreement that aims to substantially reduce global greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to limit the global temperature increase in this century to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, while pursuing the means to limit the increase to 1.5 degrees.

There may be a new set of agreements on sustainability given by world leaders as a similar summit happened recently called the G7 Summit. It is where world leaders (presidents, prime ministers etc) come together at a location and discuss modern day issues such as sustainability, global warming and find ways to fight them or avoid them in a way.
